Lincoln High School Class of 1963 Announces Schedule For Its Milestone 50 Year Reunion
The 50 Year reunion of the Lincoln High School class of 1963 will be held on the holiday weekend of July 4th, 2013. In keeping with class tradition, the Event will span two days: A party on Friday, July 5th and a memory filled gala at the Sons of Italy on Saturday evening, July 6th, 2013.
The affair has been dubbed “Solid Gold” in honor of the class reaching its half-century mark. It’s a time when classmates can reconnect with old friends and remember their years at Lincoln High. But also it’s a time to reflect on the revolutionary happenings that got them to this place in history.
This year, for the first time class members will be able to reach out to one another ahead of time via the internet. The class has forged a special relationship with the unique web site, ELLWOOD CITY MEMORIES. Class members may take part in a public forum or they may send private emails to fellow students by just clicking on their names.

At the senior prom in 1963 two girls surprisingly showed up wearing the exact same dress. NO – I don’t mean that two girls fit into one dress and wore it to prom! Two girls showed up wearing two dresses of the same design. Who were they?

Since I graduated in 1965 was unable to attend your prom of 1963, but the dress question had me coming back to see who wore them. Thanks Lou for finally revealing the young ladies.
Now I have a memory question. This young lady Janey Cherol, is she related to Lou Cherol, who had a children clothing store next to or near Pee Wee’s? I remember my Mom taking me there when I was very young. I also remember as you walked east on the southside of Law. Ave and approaching the corner of 5th St. you could look up and Lou Cherol had the name of the store painted high on one of the building for advertising. It may have been the building that housed his store.
Janie Cheryl and I had identical dresses except for color – hers ice-blue and mine while. See you in July.

susie drescher told me she and janie cherol wore the same dress to the junior prom and they double dated with you and joe parillo. so did janie have a dilemma at both proms?

Lou, I dont know who is in charge of this reunion but I think it would be nice to have a class picture, we havent had one since the 25th reunion. I was talking with Doris Hollerman (Burkett) and she said her brothers class had someone come in before supper take the picture and had them back in a couple of hours for a cost of $10.00. I think it would be nice!!!!! Don

Yes Don, Cathy truly was a looker back then and I’m sure she is today. Will that help you get in free, mostly not, but you keep trying young fellow..!!LOL I remember myself and the guys I ran with (we were sophomores) thought your class was loaded with lookers. I hope I didn’t offend anyone with my truthful comment.

In a 2009 Obituary of John Gretch, it said his sister, Jackie Harper, lived in Erie, PA. John’s sons Mike and Dan both live in Franklin Township, according to the obituary. Maybe you could find Jackie through them, Don.

I found Jackie’s brother’s obit by googling Jacqueline Gretch Ellwood City. Sorry to see in today’s Ledger that our Class of ’64 lost another member, Felix Biega.

Cathy, I just heard that Al doesn’t want to do the pictures because they are doing another DVD, I still want a picture, the DVD will probably be included in our admission price so I wouldn’t mind paying $10.00 for a picture. If need be maybe we can have a vote???? I don’t mind the DVD but still want a picture!!!!! Come on Al!!!!!! Don

I must agree with you, a picture is worth a thousand words; a video can be great, but limited in content and in future use by future formats. At any rate, the $10.00 fee for video and a $10.00 fee for a photo could be the choices. What do you think, Al? Actually, I phone him and get back to you.

Okay, here goes; I was told “We wont tell anyone they cant come.” So…..anyone that wants to come one night, and I’m guessing that it would be Sat. night and doesn’t want to spend $70.00 to send what they can afford but we need to get the reservations in so they will know how many to expect for dinner. Now I hope that this will make a few people plan on coming that may not have come otherwise. Remember…. the more the merrier and bring $10.00 if you want a copy of the group picture. just had a reunion meeting. decided against class picture. not enough interest in it and last time it almostan hour to take the picture. please bring a camera and have a good time with it and share pictures at 55th reunion. also anyone who has pictures of past reunions please bring this year. it looks like a great time and i we get a great response.

okay don, just a couple thoughts. this is your project. how will you know who wants a picture and how will they order it? personally i think everyone should come and see our class in person..this may be the last reunion. albert says he has done his share and barb porter also says the same thing. i just encourage everyone to come. i have really enjoyed our last reunions but there are a lot of people who haven’t come and all of us would like to see them. stan will be doing a magic show and he performs all over the world.
