I grew up in the neighborhood of Ninth Street and Park Ave. around 1968-81. The families that would play there were the Jinar's, Veres, Barbers, Gatto,Hudsons, Tamero, etc... We used to play on that empty lot owned by the Craynses? and the house at the bottom of the lot was the Strouss's. There were some trees at the bottom of the hill and if the ball would roll under there, we would be cautioned that was an old indian burial site??? Didn't give it any thought at the time.

Not sure if this will help but I remember an empty lot at the corner of Park Ave. and 9th Street. When Jasen and I lived on 9th Street I asked the one neighbor why noone had built there but had planted a tree. He told us that it was an Indian burial ground. And that it was sacred and couldn't be built on. Don't know if there would be anyone old enough in that neighborhood that could help with answering questions.
